"I Love You, I Hate You"
Coffee Morning Chat on the topics of patriotism, cultural identity, and the love-hate relationships we might have with our new lands and homelands

The concept* is, we all listen to a fascinating podcast, then come together to talk about it.

We've selected The Big Ponder podcast entitled: I Love You, I Hate You.  Please listen to it prior to our morning coffee.  Join us!

Zoom link will be posted on the PTA chat and Spirit.  Please email pta@bbis.de if you don't have access to these.

* Please note, this concept originated with the American Women's Club of Berlin.

From Wednesday, Nov. 18 --  "Siamese Chicken Curry" - with guest chef Gillian H.

I chose this recipe because it's EASY and a crowd-pleaser... we make it at least once a month.  The photo below is just similar, not the exact dish.  You CAN improvise and use pretty much any veggies - peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, etc - very flexible. Can't wait to make it together!

Panang-Chicken-Curry-14.jpg

INGREDIENTS:

500g ground beef or mixed

pressed garlic

dry mint

breadcrumbs

3 eggs

1-2 small onions

flour

oil to cook in — true Greek would be olive oil

Sides:

Either rice or some sort of fried potatoes.

Side salad:  I do a simple salad of cucumbers and tomatoes — similar to a Greek "village" salad.

Feta cheese!!!

A nice baguette of bread

Oregano seasoning

Greek Meatballs

The way my mom taught me

Preparing the meatballs is a bit messy work so I would recommend — if you are going to eat once it's done — then to prepare your rice or side dish in advance...

Garlic Cloves

Stay Safe, Stay Connected...

Regular coffee mornings (online) will continue, along with our "Sprechstunde" meetings on a variety of topics.   Stay tuned as we plan the dates.   Many PTA Clubs are also ongoing, see the "Clubs" tab above for details. Have a new idea? Please write to us!

MEET THE 2021-22
PTA BOARD!

Remember when this was a normal scene on campus?  Yes, we miss it, too... and we are all looking forward to brighter days ahead!
At the General Meeting, we will take a quick look at our achievements this year, review the budget, introduce those who have volunteered to join the new Board, and (with your help!) officially vote them in.  Enrolled PTA members are eligible to vote;
sign up here if you haven't already.
